Will it be painful?

Rolfing has a long-standing reputation for being painful.  This is no longer true, at least not in my practice.  I work with a spectrum of touch in an intuitive and effective way to meet each client where they are at, while holding the goal of higher structural organization.  We work together through communication and movement to work at a depth that benefits each individuals entire system.  Many people are surprised upon leaving their first session that they not only feel better than when they came in, but they did not have to suffer through it!

What is a session like?

Sessions range in length from 75-90 minutes (initial visits tend to run a bit longer) and are typically spaced 1-2 weeks apart.  Each session begins with a walking and moving assessment. Throughout the session clients may move through states of awareness and engagement as well as deep relaxation.  Unlike other forms of bodywork, clients often participate in the sessions by doing specific movements,  tuning into breath awareness, as well as sitting, standing and walking.  Rolfing sessions are dynamic and educational!

What should I wear?

For your Rolfing session, comfort is of the utmost importance.  You will remain clothed to your comfort level for the duration of your session. Suggestions for Rolfing attire are shorts and a sports bra or a bra and underwear for women and shorts or underwear for men.
